Attorney Audrey Brown has a Bachelor’s Degree from Berea College, a Paralegal Certificate from Villanova University, and a Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. She has paralegal experience in real estate closings, wills and trusts, and estate probate, and attorney experience in an ever-growing variety of legal areas. Audrey is especially passionate about working with families with children, and initially opened her firm intending to be primarily a family attorney. As the practice developed however, she realized that by limiting her services she was only able to help her clients with very limited issues in their lives. When her husband Andrew suggested the slogan, “Your Family’s Attorney,” a play on the original focus in family law, the message of this slogan resonated with why she became an attorney, to help her community. Legal issues can be complicated and overwhelming, and often occur during an emotionally vulnerable time in a person’s life. The last thing anyone needs to worry about is figuring out what type of lawyer the situation needs and trying to find an attorney to help. By expanding her services into general practice Audrey is able to be the attorney that her clients can come to and refer their family and friends to no matter what legal problem they are facing. If Audrey can’t personally handle a particular type of law she can recommend an attorney that she trusts that does handle that type of matter, thus removing one big stressor in the legal process.
When Audrey is not practicing law, she spends her time working on her garden and an ever-growing list of home renovation projects, reading, or going places and doing things with her husband and teenage stepson.
Audrey is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Women Lawyer's Association, and The Center for Women.
